A 29-year-old West Palm Beach man has been arrested on charges of burglary and lewd or lascivious molestation after he entered a Palm Beach home, went to a room and touched a sleeping minor, police said.

Officers who were called to the scene at about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday said in their report that when the victim — who was younger than 16 — awakened, the man, whom the victim did not know, said "I'm a mister. I've left a ring for you."

The man "proceeded to calmly exit the bedroom and make a right turn heading westbound on the property," the report said.

Shortly afterward, police saw a car with no tag lights that was traveling northbound in the 1100 block of South Ocean Boulevard turn into the street where the incident occurred, then make a U-turn back onto South Ocean, the report said.

The officer stopped the car and made contact with the driver, who matched the description given by the victim, police said. The victim was unable to identify the suspect, police said.

But the suspect, who was read his Miranda rights, made admissions/confessions, police spokesman Capt. Will Rothrock said. The suspect, whose statements were redacted from the report, is being held without bail at the Palm Beach County Jail.
