Outer bands of Hurricane Idalia will bring heavy rains and possible coastal flooding to the Myrtle Beach area on Wednesday and Thursday.

Flight cancellations
As of Tuesday afternoon, the Myrtle Beach International Airport has not seen widespread delays or cancellations. However, canceled flights in Florida and bad weather in Myrtle Beach could cause delays.
Ryan Betcher, Assistant Director of Airports, said in a statement that the airport “intends to remain open and operate normally.”
Betcher recommended travelers check their flight status on their airline’s website or the Myrtle Beach Airport page.
Road closures

Buses
Coast RTA has not made any changes to routes or schedules as of Tuesday afternoon, said public information officer Lauren Morris. High winds are the biggest concern to the bus system, which operates urban and rural routes. Morris advised riders to check the Coast RTA Facebook page and app for up-to-date information.
