Pilot Fights Fairview Fire at Night in California's Riverside County

Footage released by officials on September 11 shows a firefighting pilot tackle the Fairview Fire burning in California’s Riverside County at night.

Air crews use night flying technology to tackle wildfires after dark, Cal Fire said. This footage shows a pilot dropping retardant over the blaze at night.

The Fairview Fire was 28,307 acres and 45 percent contained on Sunday, fire authorities said. Some evacuation orders had been downgraded to warnings in the area. Credit: Cal Fire via Storyful
