Photos: Derecho was one of Canada's most destructive wind storms
Parts of Ontario and Quebec saw one of the country's most destructive and deadly wind storms in Canadian history this past weekend.
On Saturday, a massive derecho tore through eastern Ontario and southern Quebec, hitting areas such as Quebec City, Ottawa, Kitchener and Toronto.
The derecho — which is a line of fast-moving windstorms and, sometimes, thunderstorms — left a 1,000-kilometre trail of destruction, impacting nearly half of Canada's population.
