Pet Prairie Dog's Naughty Antics Have Everyone in Stitches
Prairie Dogs are just such adorable little creatures. We always wonder what it would be like to have one as a pet, and we always assumed it would be nonstop cuddles and a tiny little animal to share TV watching time with on the sofa.
Welp, the reality of having an adopted Prairie Dog is quite a bit different, which you can see in the following clip posted by TikTok user @Poppy_the_prairie_dog.

Poppy is into EVERYTHING from Mom's succulent, which she is turning into a snack, to writing instruments! We totally find this little lady adorable but she also seems like a total handful! TikTok users agree and @Kallie comments, "It's like having a toddler." @Busta adds, "To own one of these guys you must have patience." And the video creator replies, "You have no idea!" LOL! Another person replies, "Poppy is so little but yet seems so much work yet sooooooo adorable."
Even though she does seem like a handful, yes, we know, everyone including us would love to have our very own Poppy the Prairie Dog as a pet, but according to Ness Exotic Wellness Center, prairie dogs are sometimes kept as pets, but you have to be a certain kind of pet parent to care for this animal properly.
"They are not suitable pets for most owners as they can become difficult and aggressive if not regularly handled," the center explains. "Prairie dogs are often nippy by nature, so keep this in mind if you have small children. Prairie dogs are also burrowing animals; their housing should allow for this normal behavior, as well as ample space for exercise."
We will all just have to admire this naughty little yahoo'ing girl from a distance!
