Partial Solar Eclipse Observed Over United Kingdom

A partial solar eclipse was observed over the English city of Stoke-on-Trent and other parts of the United Kingdom on Tuesday morning, October 25, and was also visible in parts of Europe,

The Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) said the eclipse would look as though the moon was “taking a bite out of the edge of the sun,” with up to 25 percent of the sun was blotted out in the UK. The eclipse was also visible in other parts of Europe, north Africa, the Middle East and western Asia, the RAS said.

The Met Office warned people not to look directly at the sun. Credit: Nina Richards via Storyful
