Ozark Mountain Biscuit, Roux Pop-Ups to celebrate crawfish season with one-day feast

If Cajun cuisine entices you, a well-loved Columbia restaurant — and its friends — will offer something special on its May menu.

Ozark Mountain Biscuit and Bar will team with Roux Pop-Ups to host Boiled at Biscuit Bar: A Crawfish Extravaganza, a culinary collaboration, on Saturday, May 6. The event will be held in what's being called "The Bullpen," outdoors next to Ozark Mountain at 1204 Hinkson Ave.

A celebration of "crawfish season," the event will offer dine-in and to-go options for hungry patrons in the classic crawfish boil manner. Ticket-holders will receive a tray "with 1.5 lbs of crawfish, corn, new potatoes, and a cup of gumbo," according to an event description.

A cash bar with beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks also will be available.

First a food truck, and now with a brick-and-mortar restaurant, Ozark Mountain has drawn on Southern and lower Midwestern traditions to create a menu based around the biscuit, but expanding to enfold a number of flavors.

The Boiled event will be held from 2 to 7 p.m.; tickets are $30. The event page describes the event as family-friendly, and notes that "well-behaved dogs are welcome while on a 4' leash."
