What are OU softball fans saying about Jordy Bahl decision to enter the transfer portal?
NORMAN — OU softball lost its ace on Monday when sophomore pitcher Jordy Bahl announced that she would enter the transfer portal.
The Papillion, Nebraska, native entered the portal with plans of moving closer to home, according to a statement she made via Twitter.
“For the last two years, despite the amazing opportunities and accomplishments, my love for home and the acknowledgement of my foundation have grown,” Bahl said. “I am excited to return home and be Jordy Bahl the softball player, but more importantly the person.”
Bahl quickly rose to stardom in her two seasons with the Sooners. She racked up 44 wins while recording a 0.99 ERA, which ranks second in program history.
Bahl was especially dominant in the most recent Women’s College World Series. She didn’t allow a run in 24 2/3 innings pitched, and she closed out Game 2 of the finals against Florida State to secure OU’s third straight national championship.
Here’s a look at how Sooners fans and people around the program reacted to Bahl’s departure:

It's fitting that Jordy Bahl's final pitch with the Oklahoma Sooners was a swing and miss strike three. She recorded 397 strikeouts in her two seasons in Norman.
Legend.

I think Jordy Bahl’s transfer is inspiring to the younger generation of athletes. She knows she had a chance at winning 4 national championships. She chose her well-being over winning games. Now she gets a chance to be a hometown hero. Amazing.
