Ole Miss signee Mensi Stiff qualifies for Pan Am U20 track and field championships

Ole Miss signee Mensi Stiff won the shot put event in the USA Track and Field U20 Nationals on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon.

Stiff, a recent Brentwood Academy graduate and three-time Tennessee Gatorade girls track and field athlete of the year, won with a throw of 52 feet.

Stiff qualified for the Pan Am U20 Championships held Aug. 4-6 in Puerto Rico with her finish.

Stiff is a three-time Tennessean high school girls track and field athlete of the year. She won six TSSAA state titles in three years — winning the shot put and discus in three straight Division II-AA championships. Her freshman year was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stiff holds the TSSAA state records in both the shot put and discus. Her best TSSAA throw in the shot put is 52-11.
