Meet the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office new explosive detection K-9: Nitro.

The name was selected for the black Labrador retriever after the sheriff's office asked the community to submit suggestions on social media, according to a press release Wednesday from the sheriff's office.

Nitro is short for nitroglycerin, a potent explosive substance.

The black Labrador retriever will celebrate his first birthday on Nov. 19.
