Newborn Colt Gets Scared by His Own Sneeze and It's Too Precious

I might be a sucker for all things cute, but I think any person could melt watching baby animals figure out the world around them. Newborn animals are especially precious with their wobbly legs and affection for Mom, but one baby horse is positively hilarious, too.

Freddy the Fresian horse is the newest member of the herd at Perth, Australia's @colouredhorses. Equestrian owner Sandra Gallegos was eager to introduce him to her horses' TikTok followers on September 25--only 6 hours after the baby was born! While on camera for the very first time, little Freddy discovered just how bizarre, and even scary, sneezes can be. It's so cute, I almost feel bad for laughing at this newborn foal!

LOL! Newborn Freddy felt shook by that sneeze, and it was downright adorable. No wonder he already has nearly 150 thousand views! He's one charming little chap from the moment he was born, and it's fun to watch him figuring out how life works. Sneezing, walking--this tiny horse get the hang of it all soon enough!

There's no doubt how confused the baby horse was about his sneeze, but it almost seemed like his mama snickered at him in response. Commenter @kghart noticed it too, asking, "Did Mama just laugh at him?" It sure looks that way.

Well, I'm glad she finds it amusing! It helps me not feel bad for giggling, and let's be honest--she deserves a little entertainment after months of pregnancy and hours of birth.

According to the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the average length of a horse's gestation period is 320 to 380 days. That's somewhere between 11 months and over a year! Needless to say, it was a long wait before Freddy arrived, and no one could be happier. No wonder this mama horse couldn't help showing off her new foal!

This clumsy baby was still figuring out how his legs worked after 6 hours of life, which is totally normal. Foals are expected to stand within an hour of birth, though there's no way to predict when their first sneeze will be! As Freddy showed, it didn't take very long at all.
