Nets’ Nic Claxton says recent losing ‘is fixable’ after loss to Pistons
NEW YORK — Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton has been doing a lot to help this Nets team win games. While it seems like more people everyday are touting him for DPOY and MIP awards, it’s easy to understand when you see Claxton play. The impact that he’s having for Brooklyn this season is obvious. However, despite Claxton having another great game, the Nets lost a game that they shouldn’t have.
“There’s no reason to put our heads down,” Claxton said after Brooklyn lost a game that they were considered as five point favorites. “I mean, it’s fixable. It’s a little more effort. rebounding, and we’re scoring points offensively. We’re knocking down shots, we just gotta get those timely stops and timely rebounds.”
In Thursday’s 130-122 loss to the Detroit Pistons, Claxton had 27 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks. He was incredible on both ends of the court as he tried to make up for the fact that only three Nets showed up to play: himself, Kyrie Irving, and Edmond Sumner. Despite that, Claxton is still confident that Brooklyn can start winning games again. Next up are the Knicks.
