Neighbours' April Rose Pengilly 'doesn't want to believe' Jodi Anasta's exit news
Neighbours star April Rose Pengilly has addressed Jodi Anasta's exit – and suggested that she wishes Chloe Brennan was with Elly Conway.
Jodi is leaving as Elly after nearly four years on the Australian soap to move back to Sydney, and April – who plays Chloe – told Inside Soap that she will be missed dearly.
"Oh gosh, you'll make me cry!" April said, when asked about her co-star's departure. "Jodi's just such a beautiful person, with such wonderful energy, and we have such a wonderful time just gossiping and chatting.
"They'll start rolling the cameras and we'll be in the middle of sharing a story right up until the point of 'action'.
"I haven't really thought about what it'll be like when she leaves because I don't want to believe it."
And discussing Chloe and Elly's past relationship, April admitted that while she enjoys having Chloe with Pierce, she sees the 'Chelley' pairing as "something really special".
"Do you know what, I'm still very much on Team Chelly!" she said.

"But I think there are obviously very lovely elements to the Pierce and Chloe relationship. He's been really good for her during this time where her mother's health has been deteriorating, and he's really seeking stability in her life.
"I don't begrudge the relationship, but there was something really special about Elly and Chloe. It was unrequited, forbidden love, and the reason they didn't end up together again was life kept getting in the way.
"I do hope there will be a future for them in some form."
Viewers have seen Elly survive Finn Kelly's island terror, but upcoming episodes hint that the police will strongly suspect her of murdering the villain.
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
