Nebraska volleyball remains undefeated with win over Michigan State

Husker volleyball took another multi-match trip to a midwestern state, traveling to Michigan for a couple of conference showdowns. Their first of two matches, a clash with Michigan State. The Spartans split the first two sets with Nebraska, winning the second set 25-16. But the Huskers came off the intermission on fire and weren’t extinguished, taking the match in four sets (25-23, 16-25, 25-15, 25-11).

Nebraska finished the match with 39 kills off 113 attacks for a hitting percentage of .168. A squad of Huskers delivered the majority of the offensive stats in the win, combining for 37 kills off 101 attacks.

Freshman Harper Murray led the Huskers in the match as their only player to hit double-digits in kills, finishing with 12 off 34 attacks. Juniors Merritt Beason and Lindsay Krause both put up nine kills and combined for 52 attacks. Freshman Andi Jackson rounded out the big offensive stats for Nebraska, finishing the match with seven kills off 12 attacks.

Freshman setter Bergen Reilly also contributed to the offensive effort, putting up 29 assists in the win. On defense, libero Lexi Rodriguez led the team in digs with 13.

The Huskers move to 14-0 on the season and will take on Michigan Friday night. The match is set for 7:30 p.m. and can be viewed on the Big Ten Network.
