NC high school football scores, live updates NCHSAA playoffs Round 3 in Jacksonville
East Duplin and Jacksonville are still alive in the NCHSAA football playoffs.
The Panthers host Clinton on Friday night in the third round of the 2-A bracket and Jacksonville hosts Triton in the third round of the 3-A bracket. Both games kick off at 7 p.m.
The Panthers are coming off a hard-fought 31-17 win over James Kenan while the Cardinals upset Havelock 49-42.
Second-seeded East Duplin (11-1) defeated Clinton last year in the second round before falling in the third round. The Dark Horses (11-1) entered this game seeded seventh. No. 20 Jacksonville (7-4) looks to move one step closer to its second consecutive trip to the East Regional final with a victory over No. 28 Triton (7-5).
The third-round winners advance to next week's East Regional semifinal, which means they get to practice on Thanksgiving Day.
