Nashville police investigate deadly shooting at Bellevue apartments as a homicide
A deadly shooting reported at approximately 7:15 a.m. Saturday in Bellevue is being investigated as a homicide, according to Nashville police.
Rodrigo E. Aguilar, 60, was shot at an apartment complex near his Bellevue Road residence, police said.
The shooting was reported from The Slate apartments at the 7400 block of Highway 70 South, according to Metro’s Emergency Communications Center.
Officers responded to the apartment complex after a person saw Aguilar lying outside their apartment at 7:15 a.m.
Surveillance video showed him returning home from work around 1:30 a.m. Aguilar was unloading his vehicle when he appeared to notice something off camera and soon after walked toward the area where he was shot, police said.
Aguilar died at the scene, police said.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area just after 2 a.m. but did not find a crime scene or victim.
