Is Montana Fouts pitching for Alabama softball in winner-take-all regional final?

Alabama softball has turned to Jaala Torrence in the winners take all Game 7 of the Tuscaloosa Regional.

Alabama fell in the first game of the 4-1 to Middle Tennessee State. Game 7 will start around 3:50 p.m. CT.

Alabama ace Montana Fouts has not appeared in a game since leaving the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals in the seventh inning after injuring her knee. Fouts was listed as day-to-day with a hyperextended left knee. She had not been seen throwing any pitches in the bullpen until during Game 1 on Sunday. She looked to still be using a knee brace.

Fouts is the unquestioned ace for the Crimson Tide, throwing over half their innings during the regular season. She led the nation with 311 strikeouts during the regular season. Fouts holds a 23-9 record with a 1.44 ERA. She has thrown two perfect games and a no-hitter this season. Fouts is a three-time All-American and four-time ALL-SEC first-team selection.

In Fouts’ absences, Torrence picked up both of Alabama's regional wins throwing 11⅔ scoreless innings. Alex Salter and Lauren Esmna were responsible for all nine of the opponent's runs.
