MLB All-Star Futures Game rosters loaded with 29 former first-round picks
Major League Baseball announced its rosters for the 2021 All-Star Futures Game on Wednesday.
This will be the 22nd iteration of the game and the second time the game is played in the American League versus National League format. The NL Futures Team will be managed by Colorado Rockies third baseman and two-time All-Star Vinny Castilla. Relief pitcher LaTroy Hawkins will manage the AL Futures Team.
There are 29 former first-round MLB Draft picks between the two teams, including the No. 1 overall selections from the last two drafts. Adley Rutschman (2019) and Spencer Torkelson (2020) will both play for the American League team.
The game will also feature 15 internationally-born players, with eight from the Dominican Republic, two from Cuba and one each from Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.
The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET on July 11 at Coors Field in Colorado.
