Miyan Williams ties Ohio State football record for single-game rushing touchdowns
Miyan Williams ran his way into the Ohio State football record books Saturday afternoon.
With TreVeyon Henderson sidelined, Williams shined against Rutgers' run defense, tying the Buckeyes' record for most rushing touchdowns in a single game with five against the Scarlet Knights.
Williams is the first Ohio State running back to record five touchdowns in a game since 1984, taking the ball at the 2-yard line and barreling it in for his fifth score of the day.
The Ohio State third-year running back has career bests with 21 carries and 189 rushing yards. Williams came in with a previous career high of two touchdowns in a game.

Williams is the first Ohio State running back since J.K. Dobbins in 2019 to record at least four rushing touchdowns in a single game.
Pete Johnson was the first Ohio State running back to score five touchdowns in a single game, recording 148 rushing yards on 26 carries against North Carolina in 1975, while Keith Byars recorded five touchdowns against Illinois in 1984, recording 274 rushing yards on 39 carries.
Williams' 189 yards is his second-straight 100-yard game, recording 101 yards on 11 carries against Wisconsin. The third-year Ohio State running back had two 100-yard rushing games in 2021 against Minnesota and Purdue.
