“The girls are wanting to compete for the division title and make it to state,” stated Gary Cress Sr., who is heading into his first year as head coach of the Minerva girls bowling program. “With our two juniors leading the way, I think the underclassmen can push each other to make a good competition between the team.”

The Lady Lions return three letter winners from last season’s 10-7 team - juniors Skye Davis and Lydia Sanor, and sophomore Shelby Worrell.

Worrell averaged 167 during her freshman season. She qualified to districts, and was selected to the American Division’s second team.

Davis averaged 140, and Sanor averaged 133.

Also being looked upon to contribute are freshman Sierra Cress, Jadynn Thompson and Anna Leach.

Coach Cress projects his starting lineup to consist of Davis, Sanor, Worrell, Cress and Thompson.

“We are a young team but I believe we will compete with the rest of the league,” noted Coach Cress.
