Here’s how Milwaukee-area singer Rachel Christine did with her battle on ’The Voice’
On Tuesday’s episode of NBC singing competition “The Voice,” Delavan-based singer Rachel Christine confessed that, when she came to Los Angeles to do a blind audition for the show, “I didn’t really feel like I was supposed to be here.”
Not only does she belong, Christine is moving on. She won her battle round against JB Somers to advance to the next round.
“She has just an incredible tone,” Christine's coach, Kelly Clarkson, said on Tuesday’s episode. “When you think you’ve heard the best of her, she gives you this other layer and I think that’s incredibly cool.”
Christine and Somers both chose to be on Clarkson’s team; she had them perform a duet of Maggie Rogers’ ”Light On” for their battle.
Clarkson, along with fellow coaches Blake Shelton, Niall Horan and Chance The Rapper, acknowledged some anxiety from the singers at the start of the performance but were all ultimately complimentary. Chance told Christine, ”I think you can win this entire competition.”
Clarkson declared Christine the winner of the battle, allowing the Burlington native to advance to the knockout rounds, which will begin airing on Monday's episode.
