Mexican and Latin American eatery Chago's Cantina is shuttering

Chago's Cantina announced that this week will be its final week in operation.

After 11 and a half years of business, Chago's Cantina at 2015 Belmont Blvd. is shuttering this week.

However, the team is viewing the closure as a celebration instead of an ending. "We are happy and excited to announce that this will be our last week in service," read a statement posted on the restaurant's social media accounts by owner Chad Head, citing a decision to follow a different path as the primary reason for choosing to stop operations.

Chago's Cantina is most known for its authentic selection of Mexican and Latin American dishes with guest favorites including Pork Belly Tacos and Tacos Borrachos. Catering services, bar gatherings, private parties and events are additional popular offerings — a testament to the cantina's strong community aspect.

"I want to thank each and every team member that has ever been apart of the Chago's family. Thank you to all of my bar regulars over the years that kept us going. Thank you to my Nashville and Belmont families for all of your support," wrote Head before thanking his immediate family and wife as well.

Guests are encouraged to stop by this week to celebrate new beginnings. Chago's Cantina will remain open Tuesday to Friday this week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
