Mets-Phillies game on Friday postponed due to rain. Here's when it will be made up
Not long after the New York Mets and Miami Marlins had their Thursday night game suspended due to rain in the top of the ninth inning at around 1 a.m. Friday, the Philadelphia Phillies' equipment truck arrived for the final series of the regular season at Citi Field.
But Friday night's series opener between the Mets and Phillies suffered the same fate as the preceding night. The game has been postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a single-admission doubleheader Saturday beginning at 4:10 p.m.
Mets-Phillies ticket information
Tickets for Friday night's game will not be valid for admission to the makeup doubleheader. Fans holding tickets for Friday will receive a voucher that can be exchanged for a comparable ticket to another regular-season game or Mets' 2024 game during March, April or May (excluding Opening Day and additional blackout dates may apply).
Parking lots will open Saturday at 2:10 p.m. and gates will open an hour later. The second game will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.
Phillies and the NL playoff picture
The Phillies (89-70) are locked into the top wild-card spot in the National League, but the result of the Mets-Marlins Thursday night suspension, which is scheduled to be completed on Monday afternoon, could have a bearing on who the Phillies face in the opening round.
The Diamondbacks would currently be their opponent. They sit in fourth place with a 1.5-game advantage over the Marlins. But the Marlins, who have a half-game lead for the final spot, hold tiebreakers over both the Diamondbacks and Cubs.
The Phillies grabbed a stranglehold on the top spot last weekend when they swept the Mets over a four-game series.
