Memphis Grizzlies draft G.G. Jackson in second round of NBA Draft
The Memphis Grizzlies selected forward G.G. Jackson of South Carolina with the 45th overall pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday night.
Jackson played one season of college basketball. He reclassified to the class of 2022 after being widely regarded as the top-ranked high school recruit in the class of 2023 due to an advanced offensive skillset for his age.
The 6-foot-9 Jackson averaged 15.4 points on 38.4% shooting with the Gamecocks.
Jackson is one of the youngest players in the draft and doesn't turn 19 until Dec. 17. His young age and development make him a prime candidate to potentially land on a two-way deal.
