Lester Quinones agreed to return to the Golden State Warriors on a two-way contract, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Friday.

Multiple reports indicate the former Memphis basketball standout's strong showing earlier this month at the NBA's summer league makes him a viable candidate to earn a full roster spot. In seven games, Quinones averaged 21.9 points, 4.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds.

His performance in Las Vegas comes on the heels of a stellar season in the G League. In 31 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors, the 22-year-old averaged 20.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists, earning G League Most Improved Player honors. He was runner-up to the Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton Jr., in the G League Rookie of the Year voting.

“It’s playing out just like the plan I gave him,” Lester Quinones Sr. recently told The Commercial Appeal. “I told him, ‘By 25, everybody will know who you are. You’re gonna be a household name in the NBA.’ Long as he keeps doing the work, which he is. He’s working so hard, the NBA is having to shut him down.”
