Meghan Markle has stepped back in the spotlight six days after she and Prince Harry announced their intention to step back as senior royal family members. The Duchess of Sussex made a surprise visit at a women's center in Vancouver. The Downtown Eastside Women's Centre shared a photo of Meghan there in a cream sweater, skinny jeans, and tan boots. "Look who we had tea with today! The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, visited us today to discuss issues affecting women in the community," the center wrote on its Facebook. Meghan beamed alongside the women.

Her visit comes shortly after she was photographed boarding a seaplane to go to Vancouver from Victoria Harbour Airport. She wore the same look with a green Barbour jacket over it. This is the first glimpse at the kind of work Meghan will do on her own now, without the Palace announcing her events in advance.

Meghan has been in Canada the past couple days with her son Archie while Harry has remained in the UK. Harry met with the Queen, Prince Charles, and Prince William on Monday to discuss his and Meghan's future. The Queen released a statement at the end of that meeting, confirming that Harry and Meghan would no longer be full-time working royal family members. The Queen said:

Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family. My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wishes to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family. Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives. It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK. These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.
