Max Christie with another tough day in finale of California Classic

It was a great California Classic for the Los Angeles Lakers overall, as they won two of three games in San Francisco. For Max Christie, however, it didn’t go according to plan. He had a tough three-game set, especially on the offensive end.

Christie was held to just 6 points per game in the three games. He averaged 7 rebounds per game as well, which was his major high point. His rebounding was very good considering his size at 6-foot-6. Christie struggled in just about every offensive category in the game against the Sacramento Kings.

He shot 1-for-6 from the field and 0-for-2 from 3-point range. He also missed two free throws in the game. Defensively, however, he was tasked with guarding Keegan Murray. Murray has an NBA ready offensive game and Christie actually did relatively well in one-on-one matchups.

The good news for the Lakers is that there is still a lot of time for him to gain reps and experience in the Summer League. The second-round pick from Michigan State University has plenty of time to get his game rolling and turn some heads. As long as he is willing to work, the sky is the limit for the 19-year-old. He is potentially a great find for LeBron James and the Lakers.
