Martin County North Little League enjoys trip to meet governor, tour FSU baseball
Martin County North Little League's magic ride didn't end with its trip to the Little League World Series in August.
The team comprised of 13 players and four coaches had a memorable run that ended with Martin County North being the first squad from the state of Florida to make it to the LLWS since 2008.
They didn't win it all, but being one of the 20 best Little League teams in the nation is an honor in and of itself.
On Thursday, Nov. 4, the team garnered yet another honor — a trip to meet Gov. Ron DeSantis at the Governor's mansion in Tallahassee.

The team also had its photo taken with the Governor in his office.
Gov. DeSantis later Tweeted: "I was proud to award the Martin County North Little League team the Florida Governor’s Sports Award for making it to the Little League World Series this year. Congratulations!"
The team also made a trip to Florida State University to check out the Seminoles' baseball facilities. They were given a tour by head coach Mike Martin Jr.
The Seminoles have made the national tournament every year since 1978, except for in 2020, when there was no tournament because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Players on Martin County North certainly have the talent to one day play at a school of Florida State's caliber.
