Margot Robbie Channels A 90s Barbie Look With Crimped Hair And A Geometric Emilio Pucci Dress In Mexico City

Margot Robbie has done it again with another epic ensemble inspired by an actual Barbie doll! At the Mexico City premiere of her upcoming film Barbie, the flick’s lead actress stunned fans with an unexpected crimped hair transformation that brought us back to the late 80s and early 2000s (when the trendy hairstyle last had a major revival).

The 33-year-old Oscar nominee donned a vibrant, geometric-print mini dress to the event on July 7th, and completed her look with her tresses styled into a retro, voluminous ‘do. This is just one of the many Barbie-inspired red carpet get-ups that Robbie has sported during the film’s press tour. It may be one of her most memorable, so far!

Margot Robbie Rocks Retro, Crimped Hair & Geometric Mini Dress For The Mexico City Premiere

As Robbie graced the red carpet in Mexico's capital city last week, she channeled the 'Totally Hair Barbie,' released in 1992. That doll, as Robbie's stylist Andrew Mukamal noted on Instagram, also donned a very similar multicolored frock and wore a hairstyle that was crimped, wavy and emblematic of its time.

The Babylon star's dress is by Emilio Pucci. She dazzled it up with hot pink Manolo Blahnik heels and accessorized with a coral Chanel quilted purse. Robbie topped it all off with a pair of fuchsia Chanel dangly earrings that showed off the French label’s signature double 'C' logo.

As for her glam, the Amsterdam alum went for side-parted, long, wavy hair. For her makeup look, Robbie opted for subtle rosy eyeshadow, sky-high lashes, radiant blush and a glossy bubblegum lip.

Naturally, many fans on Twitter couldn't get enough of Robbie's outfit and her crimped hair! One wrote, alongside a shot of the Australian native on the carpet: "She's srsly the fashion icon of this year i cant lie."

Another added: "I love the totally hair barbie reference on Margot Robbie at the #barbie Mexico photocall."

Someone else tweeted: "This totally hair Barbie look though" with a heart-emoji as one other wrote: "She looks so gorgeous with crimped hair." (We concur!)
