FINDLAY — The next steps to All-Ohio honors were taken by a couple of Richland County girls basketball standouts.

Mansfield Senior junior Kiersten Bradley and Shelby's Eve Schwemley earned second team All-Northwest District in Division II as announced by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association. Usually, second teamers are a lock for an All-Ohio spot.

Bradley scored 12.5 points per game and added 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists for the Ohio Cardinal Conference champion Tygers. It was the first OCC title in program history and first league title in 20 years.

Schwemley, meanwhile, contributed 11.5 points, five rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as a sophomore to help the Whippets keep the dynasty going with their fifth consecutive Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championship.

Bradley and Schwemley were joined on the All-Northwest District list by Shelby senior Demi Hipp who was a third team selection while Shelby teammate Audi Albert, Madison's Chloe Ebeling, Lexington's Madi Basilone, Mansfield Senior's Monetta Hilory and Ontario's Lizzie Nagel and Taylor Counts were honorable mentions.

Shelby coach Natalie Lantz earned Northwest District Coach of the Year honors sharing them with Graig Mintz of Fostoria and Todd Grosjean of Bryan. Lantz led the Whippets to their fifth consecutive Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championship after losing three All-Ohio players from a year ago.
