LSU women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey cries in final seconds of NCAA championship win for home state
LSU women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey crouched down and shed tears in the final seconds of the NCAA championship game as the Tigers won the first national title in program history.
Mulkey shared a few tears of joy on the sideline as the Tigers enjoyed an extensive lead over the Iowa Hawkeyes with 53.7 seconds left, knowing she'd win her fourth national title in her second year with LSU.
The Tigers defeated the Hawkeyes 102-85 to win their first national title. It's also Mulkey's fourth after spending 21 seasons with Baylor.
She shared more tears as the clock ran out and the team ran onto the court to receive the trophy.

"I'm so happy for everybody back home in Louisiana," Mulkey told ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe through tears after the game as her grandchildren played with ticker tape that fell from the American Airlines Center rafters in Dallas.
The Tigers finish the season with a record of 34-2.
