Johnson made her name known this past year as a member of the National Championship team at LSU. She started in all 36 games for LSU throughout her first season of college basketball, earning SEC Freshman of the Year honors and averaging 11 points and 5.9 rebounds. Her play on the court helped the Tigers win their first women’s basketball national championship in school history. This season she had 20 games where she scored in double figures. She played a key role in the title game against Iowa, scoring 10 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing four assists.

Johnson came to LSU from Georgia, where she was one of the best high school players in the country. A four-star recruit, Johnson was named a McDonald’s All-American, Naismith All-American, and played in the Jordan Brand Classic, where she earned MVP honors. She was also the only female to play in the Iverson Classic.

Johnson isn’t just a basketball star. She’s a musical artist as well, having appeared on America’s Got Talent (earning the coveted “Golden Buzzer”), and she signed a record deal with Jay Z’s Roc Nation label.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Johnson earned a key to the city of Savannah and has an intersection named after her on Savannah’s south side.
