Louisville soldier arrested, charged with deserting Fort Campbell base

Police in Kentucky have arrested a Louisville man who was wanted for desertion from the Fort Campbell military installation.

Noah Trey Haines, 21, was arrested May 9 at Southbridge Court and Valley College Drive, according to a Louisville Metro Police report. The report said he was in violation of desertion on April 20.

The Louisville case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning charges from Louisville Metro Police could still be filed.

According to Kari McEwen, a colonel with the Public Affairs Office, Haines is assigned to the 101st Airborne Air Assault division and will be returned to Fort Campbell.

"Beyond that, I cannot speculate on what the charges will be," McEwen said.

Haines is charged with desertion from armed forces federal Absence Without Official Leave military.
