The Fine Art of Summer Camp

Details: The Art Museum of South Texas, an affiliate of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, will host ten different sessions of visual and performing arts camps for children ages K5-12 throughout the summer. Campers are instructed in a variety of visual and performing arts activities such as drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, pantomime, improvisation and musical theater. On the final day of each camp, an exhibition of the work produced and a public performance is held for families and friends. *Please note that depending on current pandemic guidelines, performances will be virtual.

2022 K Space Contemporary Summer Mural Arts Camp

Details: K Space's Mural Arts Program for Teens was established in 2016 and has since taken off! K Space Contemporary is proud to host a summer mural arts program for teens, one of its kind, in the South Texas region. Camp on the Coast theater camp

Details: The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Summer Theatre Workshop is a two-week residential camp designed for high school students seeking a highly intensive and creative theatre experience. Participants will rehearse and perform in a one-act play directed by one of five highly successful theatre educators. Students interested in performance will study acting, voice, and movement in morning classes taught by TAMUCC Theatre faculty. Returning campers will take a three-hour master class in acting and movement. Technical Theatre Students will attend classes in design, participate in the creation of each production’s sets, lighting, and costumes, and serve as crew for the shows.

Del Mar College All-State Choir Camp

Islander Band Camp

Details: After a two-year hiatus, the Islander Band Camp is back for 2022. The Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Islander Band Camps offer middle school, junior high and high school students the opportunity to come to the "Island University" for a week of music and fun. The middle/junior high school camp is open to all students with at least one year of experience on a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument. The high school camp is open to all high school band students. Students will experience music-making with TAMU-CC faculty and outstanding area music artists and educators. Classes include group lessons, sectionals, full ensemble rehearsals, and music theory and history. Students will also enjoy activities each day, including games and recitals.

Details: The objective at All Things Soccer Camps is to create a fun and learning environment where players can express themselves freely on the soccer field. Texas Surf Camps

Details: Texas Surf Camps has been teaching surfing through summer camps 18 years, with the primary focus on surfing instruction and practice in a safe environment. Their goal to provide each camper with the confidence and knowledge to continue the great sport of surfing on his or her own after camp is over. We also teach ocean education and awareness through fun, hands-on games and activities and presentations from organizations such as Surfrider Foundation. No surfing experience required, but MUST have basic swimming skills and be comfortable in the ocean.

Details: Coach Todd Dodge brings his 30th annual QB/WR Camp to Gregory Portland High School. This is a specialty camp for all young QB/WR/RB/TE who are committed to improving their skillset. Over his 30-year coaching career, where Coach Dodge has been an innovator of the spread offense in the state of Texas, he has coached seven State Offensive Players of the Year. This camp is geared to provide individual instruction to all campers and will be based on a 1:10 coach to player ratio. Our staff all have many years of experience in coaching QBs and WRs. Details: Join the Texas State Aquarium for the 2022 Seacamp. For third and fourth graders, Deep Sea Defenders campers will get an insider’s view on how to care for and maintain an exhibit for aquatic animals, how to filter and maintain clean water habitats, go behind the scenes in animal care areas, and dissect one of our local marine critters. For fifth and sixth graders, Conservation Warriors campers will get an insider’s view of how we care for our animal collection, help feed animal diets, and design an animal habitat. In addition, campers will discover ways to protect animals in their habitats. A highlight of the week will include snorkeling in our HEB Caribbean Sea exhibit. (Staff facilitating the snorkeling program are diver- or lifeguard-certified.)

Outdoor Education Summer Camp with Molina Neighborhood Center
Location: H.E. Butt Foundation Camp in Leaky, Texas
Age Group: 8-15 years old
Dates/Times: Monday, July 18 through Thursday, July 21 (overnight)

Details: With the help of Neighborhood Centers of Corpus Christi and the H.E. Butt Foundation, children at the Molina Neighborhood Center can attend a four-day outdoor education camp in Leakey, Texas. All transportation, meals and lodging are included and full and partial scholarships are available. Camp is limited to 25 girls and 25 boys and is first-come, first-served.
