A little bit of Sol in downtown Portsmouth

As the busy summer tourist season starts to slow a bit, the Seacoast restaurant scene is as hot as ever. New restaurant Sol has opened in Portsmouth with a Southern flair in the spot where Agave used to be on State Street and the reviews posted by diners online are great. Seacoast favorite Throwback Brewery has won a statewide award and Vintage & Vine has named its star chefs for this year's fundraiser. And if you're planning a dinner out on Thursday, make it at one of the JGroup's restaurants like Vida Cantina or Jumpin' Jay's among others where 15% of the day's proceeds will be donated to Cross Roads House.

NHDES asked craft beverage producers to highlight one environmental initiative instituted at their businesses that reduces the amount of water, energy, waste or greenhouse gas emissions it generates and Throwback 's list of its sustainable efforts has continued to grow over the years since its founding and put it way out in front of any other brewery in the state.
