Lil Wayne Confirms ‘Tha Fix Before Tha VI’ Release Date, Shares Tracklist
Lil Wayne revealed last week that he is releasing a project to hold fans over until Tha Carter VI drops. This week, the New Orleans rapper confirmed the release date for Tha Fix Before Tha VI and shared its tracklist and features.
On Wednesday (Sept. 27), Weezy F Baby celebrated his 41st birthday and told fans they could expect Tha Fix Before Tha VI in just a few days. “Tha Fix Before Tha VI – 9/29,” he wrote in an Instagram post. The post included the cover art, which had been shared last week, along with another slide that showed that project’s tracklist.
The 10-song effort features Jon Batiste, Fousheé, and Euro. There is also a track called “Tity Boi,” which is what 2 Chainz used to call himself early in his career before rebranding. Fans got a taste of the project earlier this month when Wayne released the single “Kat Food,” but they’ll get the full thing on Friday (Sept. 29). Check out Weezy’s Instagram post below.
Lil Wayne’s Tha Fix Before Tha IV comes out almost five years to the day of the last album within the Carter series, Tha Carter V. He has shared two studio albums since then, following up with 2020’s Funeral and 2021’s Trust Fund Babies with Rich The Kid.
Much like his late 2000s prime, the five-time Grammy winner has been an active presence feature-wise. On Wednesday, he joined YG and Tyga for “Brand New,” a new track sampling Rhymefest and Kanye West’s 2006 song of the same name. Last month, Lil Wayne linked up with Jon Batiste for “Uneasy” and Mario and Tyga for “Main One” a month prior to that.
In March, Tunechi released a compilation of some of his biggest hits titled I Am Music. The project included “Lollipop,” “A Milli,” “How To Love,” and a new song “Kant Nobody” featuring the late DMX. Check out I Am Music below.
