When it comes to our little town, we are so fortunate to have the best of the best employees. These extraordinary individuals team up in their various departments to provide a level of service that is simply unmatched. Over the several weeks, many residents have reached to me to pursue new and innovative ways to actively give back to our town employee family.

The Palm Beach Police and Fire Foundation recently announced a charitable retirement benefit for the brave men and women who honorably serve in our public safety departments. This new benefit is a wonderful gesture for our public safety employees, and the Town Council, former mayors and I are, once again, overwhelmed by their continued generosity.

In an effort to demonstrate and extend our appreciation to the town’s general employees, I have teamed up with our previous mayors to establish the Mayor’s General Employee Appreciation Fund.

Through this fund, we can show our gratitude for the high service standards that these non-public safety employees provide to us day in and day out – through Public Works, Planning, Zoning & Building, Information Technology, Finance, Human Resources, Recreation, and Administration.

It is our goal that this fund can provide an annual $1,000 bonus to these general employees of the town, so that they can see that we acknowledge their unparalleled level of dedication to us and that our commitment to them is enduring.

Each day, they show up, they work hard and most importantly, they care. It’s their daily presence, hard work, and forethought that helps each of us call our beautiful Palm Beach community “home.”

While they may wear different uniforms and often are unseen, I believe that they are our unsung heroes. They all have the same superlative vision and values of our town and take personal responsibility to keep Palm Beach exceptional.

Together, let us share our appreciation and embrace our general employees with a thoughtful monetary gift every March, the month that recognizes National Employee Appreciation Day.

Friends, I hope that you will join us in our heartfelt effort to continue our town’s 111th year employee family partnership. Please kindly and generously contribute to our Mayor’s General Employee Appreciation fund.
