Kylie Jenner reflects on postpartum depression: 'Stay inside that moment, even if it is painful'
When it comes to motherhood, Kylie Jenner is keeping it real.
Jenner, who has previously discussed her experiences with postpartum depression, shed light on the mental health impact of childbirth during an interview with Vanity Fair Italy published Wednesday.
"I have experienced (postpartum depression) twice," Jenner, mother to Stormi, 5, and Aire, 1, told the outlet. "The first time was very difficult, but the second was more manageable."
When asked what her advice is for other women who struggle with the realities of postpartum depression, Jenner said the key is staying present.
"I would tell those women not to overthink things and to live all the emotions of that moment to the fullest," Jenner explained. "Stay inside that moment, even if it is painful. I know, in those moments, you think that it will never pass, that your body will never be the same as before, that you will never be the same. That's not true."
She added: "The hormones, the emotions at that stage, are much, much more powerful and bigger than you. My advice is to live through that transition without fear of the aftermath. The risk is to miss all the most beautiful things of motherhood as well."

Jenner recently shared a glimpse into her journey with postpartum depression on her Hulu reality-TV series "The Kardashians." Jenner spoke to sister Kendall Jenner in the October 2022 episode about how postpartum had "been really hard for me."
"I cried non-stop all day for the first three weeks," Jenner told Kendall. "It's just the baby blues, and then it kind of goes away. I had it with Stormi too." She added she would cry so much she would "lay in bed and my head would hurt so much."
The Kylie Cosmetics founder also discussed the joy of being a parent in her conversation with Vanity Fair Italy, especially the novelty of spending time with her children as newborns.
"Finding myself in the hospital alone with a new and unknown creature in my arms. It's such a unique and special situation, and it's all about building with these little beings that you're learning about, Jenner said.
