Kentucky Derby silks 2023: See what the jockeys will be wearing Saturday at Churchill Downs

The 2023 Kentucky Derby field is set, and Saturday will see the 149th horse crowned champion in the Run for the Roses at Churchill Downs.

But how do you know which horse and jockey is which when watching the two-minute race? Each jockey will have a unique uniform on called a silk. They tend to be bright and colorful with easy to distinguish patterns.

The jockey for this year's Derby favorite, Forte, is Irad Ortiz Jr. He'll be wearing a dark green silk with white stripes on the sleeves and an STL that evokes the logo on MLB's St. Louis Cardinals' ballcap. Meanwhile, Tapit Trice jockey Luis Saez will wear a pink silk with yellow sleeves (with pink stripes on them) and a bold yellow P on the back.
