The Memphis Grizzlies lost to the L.A. Clippers 83-74 in the Las Vegas summer league Wednesday.

Kenneth Lofton Jr. led the Grizzlies with 24 points points and 10 rebounds. He shot 9-for-12 from the field.

Here are four observations from the game

Jake LaRavia more than a shooter

Though LaRavia is known as a skilled shooter, he showcased his development by attacking the rim Wednesday.

LaRavia scored 22 points and only had two 3-pointers. He was 6-for-15 shooting, including 2-for-7 from 3-point range. He finished 8-for-11 from the free-throw line.

Kenneth Lofton Jr.’s perfect first half

Lofton was 6-for-6 shooting in the first half, including a trailing 3-pointer at the top of the key.

It seems like that is Lofton Jr.’s preferred spot, especially when he has a chance to set his feet.

Lofton Jr. had 13 points and six rebounds in the first half. He and LaRavia had nice chemistry, forming a one-two punch as Lofton Jr. continued to look for LaRavia’s cut toward the basket.

His unselfish play led to assists.

David Roddy continues to develop

As one of the four second-year players on the Grizzlies, Roddy came into summer league carrying the most experience by playing 70 games in 2022-23.

Roddy is averaging 13 points and shooting 40% from the field. He's averaging 6.5 rebounds.

Roddy came off an 18-point performance in the 100-77 loss Monday to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Roddy, 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds, is built like a football player and uses his size to bully his way into the paint.

Roddy finished with eight points, five rebounds and six assists against the Clippers, including a loud dunk in the middle of the third quarter.
