Katy Perry showed off her new bangs haircut in an Instagram video while promoting her non-alcoholic drink brand, and some fans had to do a double take! The Grammy winner is no stranger to epic hair transformations (from blonde pixie cuts to long, wavy black locks).

The stylish American Idol judge just gave her tresses a thicker, wispier new look with a fresh fringe. While there’s no denying how well the ‘do suits the “Teenage Dream” hitmaker, some of her followers are comparing her to Zooey Deschanel and deeming her ‘unrecognizable’ after seeing the new clip.

On June 5th, the multi-hyphenate uploaded a video in a post via her drink brand, De Soi’s account while promoting a new Gopuff collaboration. In the clip, Perry spoke to viewers about a sweepstakes with De Soi, offering her devotees a chance to win a trip to see her Las Vegas residency.

The “California Gurls” singer’s eyebrow-grazing fringe caught the eye of many viewers. While wearing her bangs down, Perry slicked the rest of her raven hair back into a top knot/ high bun. As for her makeup look, she went for smokey eyeshadow, black liner, sky-high lashes, rosy blush and a glossy pink pout.

The mom of one completed her look with chunky, silver, oversized hoop earrings, a black turtleneck top and bronze jacket “OMG YOU HAVE BANGS” one fan tweeted, tagging Perry soon after she showed off her hairstyle, as another wrote that she looked “gorg” but “different.” One other fan added: “I absolutely love her bangs!! It actually makes her YOUNGER!!”

Perry Opens Up About Sobriety and Pact with Orlando Bloom

Perry founded De Soi last year, and opened up about her sobriety in March of 2023. She revealed several months ago that she and her fiancé Orlando Bloom aimed to stop drinking booze. “I’ve been sober for five weeks today,” the “Firework” crooner told People Magazine at the time. She went on: “I’ve been doing a pact with my partner [Bloom] and I want to quit.”

The “Roar” artist vowed to stay away from any liquor for three months after she said she was tempted by fellow American Idol judge Luke Bryan. She told the outlet: “I can’t cave. I made a promise.”

Perry and Bloom have been romantically linked since 2016. They split for a year, reunited in 2018 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019. In 2020, Perry and the Pirates of the Caribbean actor welcomed daughter Daisy Dove Bloom.
