Kate Middleton stuns in $1,764 dress at the Royal Ascot — shop the look for less

Kate Middleton was the star of the show at the 2022 Royal Ascot on Friday.

Joining her husband, Prince William, in the first carriage, the 40-year-old led the royal procession at the iconic British horse racing event on June 17.

Dressed in a white and brown polka dot dress by Alessandra Rich, Kate was the picture of elegance in a full brim black hat, pearl drop earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana, and a pair of $1,012 CAD/$675 USD chocolate brown Ralph Lauren "Celia" pumps (shop here in Canada, here in the U.S.).

Kate's white and brown Alessandra Rich dress bore an uncanny resemblance to the black and white polka dot dress she wore by the designer to Prince Philip's memorial service in early April.

Sharing a similar long-sleeve, high-neck, and puff-shoulder design, the Duchess of Cambridge opted for a lighter-hued version of what is quickly becoming her go-to dress style.

Despite the colour differences between Kate's two Alessandra Rich dresses, there's one undeniable parallel: Their sky-high price tags.

The Daily Mail reported that the Duchess' black and white dress cost £1,495 (approx. $2,460 CAD) back in April, and today's white and brown style rings in at around $1,764 CAD.

While both versions of the dress remain (unsurprisingly) out of our summer wardrobe budgets, that doesn't mean you can't still shop the look (for less!)
