HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL

GLENOAK 65, LAKE 38 The Golden Eagles remained unbeaten with a Federal League win at home led by Kaitlyn Boron's 19 points. Jordan Weir added 13 points for GlenOak (7-0, 5-0) and Kiley Dyrlund scored 10. Julia Slates scored 14 points to lead Lake.

GREEN 61, MCKINLEY 36 Jenna Slates grabbed 18 rebounds and Brianna Hunt scored 14 points to lead the Bulldogs to a Federal League road win. Alyssa Ziehler added 10 rebounds, four blocked shots and three assists for Green (8-1, 4-1), while Madi Pukansky scored 13 points. Paris Stokes led McKinley (1-5, 1-4) with 11 points. McKinley was outscored 34-19 in the second half.

JACKSON 65, PERRY 57 Jackson made a season-high 13 3-pointers as a team to win at home. Emma Dretke made four 3-pointers and scored 26 points to lead the way, and.Lauren Pallotta also hit four 3-pointers in scoring 20 points. Jackson (4-3, 2-3) has won three of its last four. Meredith Randulic had 23 points and five rebounds for Perry, and Macy Takacs added 10 points and six rebounds.

ST. VINCENT-ST. MARY 50, HOOVER 44 Annie Watson scored 15 points to help St. Vincent-St. Mary (5-2) to a win at home. Grace Craig led Hoover with 21 points. Lauren Rose added 12 points for the Vikings (7-2).

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 43, LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN 34 The Crusaders won their third straight game to improve to 4-3 with the win.

MARLINGTON 62, MINERVA 19 Chelsea Evanich had 16 points, six rebounds and three assists to lead the unbeaten Dukes to an EBC road win. Kenna McElroy added 13 points for Marlington (7-0, 4-0), Elizabeth Mason scored 11, and Lexi Miller and Maria Warner had 10 apiece. Warner also had five assists. Jenna Cassidy scored 11 points for Minerva.

WEST BRANCH 48, CANTON SOUTH 14 West Branch won an EBC road game, limiting South to just four second-half points. Livvie Showalter led West Branch (7-2, 3-1) with 16 points and Sophie Gregory scored 10.

CARROLLTON 53, ALLIANCE 37 Lauren Marmo scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Carrollton to an EBC home win. Demi Leary added 12 points for Carrollton and Hillari Baker scored 10. Jayla Callock led Alliance with 10 points.

TUSKY VALLEY 52, RIDGEWOOD 12 Ashley Merrick had 12 points and eight rebounds and three assists to lead Tusky Valley to its sixth straight win. Brook Stokey also had 11 points, six rebounds and three assists for Tusky Valley (7-1, 5-0 IVC). The Trojans built up a 28-11 lead by halftime and never looked back.

BOYS BASKETBALL

CINCINNATI MOELLER 53, MCKINLEY 44 Evan Mahaffey scored 16 points to lead Moeller (5-2) and Connor Marklay added 10 points. Jahlil Graham and Lonzo Graham scored 10 points each to lead McKinley. The Bulldogs fell behind 24-13 by halftime and could not recover.

LAKE 56, AKRON NORTH 26 Caleb Collins scored 13 points to lead the Blue Streaks to a win in the opening game of the Hall of Fame City Hardwood Classic at Massillon. It is the fourth straight win for Lake (5-2).

STRASBURG 46, LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN 41 Charlie Christopher scored 16 points while Ethan Bower had 14 points for Lake Center in its loss in the second game of the Hall of Fame City Hardwood Classic at Massillon. Andrew Harvey's 20 points led Strasburg (7-1) to its fifth straight win.

LOUISVILLE 61, BARBERTON 44 The Leopards won their fourth straight game, as Hayden Nigro scored 20 points in the Hall of Fame City Hardwood Classic at Massillon. Will Aljancic added 14 points for Louisville (6-1).

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 61, TUSLAW 55 Jude Boron scored 16 points for Central Catholic to help the Crusaders to their second straight win. Central is now 3-1 on the season.

Nate Frascone and Troy Harbeitner had 17 points each for Tuslaw. The Mustangs have now lost two of their last three games. Tuslaw is 3-3 on the season.

EAST LIVERPOOL 69, CARROLLTON 52 Darick Miller had a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds for Carrollton but East Liverpool used a big second half to pull away and secure its third consecutive win.

Cole Dailey had 23 points to lead the Potters. East Liverpool outscored Carrollton 41-27 in the second half. The Potters are now 6-1 overall.

Carrollton fell to 1-7 after the setback.

COLLEGE

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

MOUNT UNION 78, WESTMINSTER 58 Emma Cannon scored a career-high 25 points and pulled down nine rebounds for Mount Union as the Purple Raiders won at home on Saturday.

Sarah Meech added 11 points and Gretchen Koken contributed 10 points for Mount Union. The Purple Raiders improved to 3-1 with the win.

Camden Hergenrother led Westminster with 19 points. Westminster fell behind 14-4 to start the game and could not recover.

WEST LIBERTY 71, MALONE 65 West Liberty outscored Malone 22-11 in the fourth quarter as the Pioneers fell on the road.

The Hilltoppers had two players record double-doubles. They were Arriana Mazzay with 21 points and 13 rebounds and Audrey Tingle with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Bailee Smith also scored 19 points for West Liberty.

The Hilltoppers improved to 9-3.

Malone had four players score in double figures. They were Holly Groff with 15 points, Robin Campbell with 14 points, Alexis Hutchison with 13 points and Madison Hunter with 10 points. The Pioneers are now 7-3 after the setback.
