Justin Fields trying to reverse Ohio State's rough quarterback history in the NFL

Fifteen games into his rookie season, Chicago Bears quarterback Justin FIelds is continuing to work to reverse a rough track record for former Ohio State quarterbacks in the NFL.

Fields, who was drafted in the first round, has had his ups and downs this season with 1,870 passing yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions and has a 2-8 record as a starter.

‘‘We’re aware that when you draft a quarterback, there’s going to be some experiences and time that he needs to be able to get better and let the game slow down for him,’’ Chicago Bears coach Matt Nagy said.

Here is a rundown on how former Ohio State quarterbacks have fared in the NFL:

Mike Tomczak

Tomczak was an undrafted free agent who started his career with the Bears.

He was 42-31 as a starter, with 16,079 passing yards, 88 touchdowns and 106 interceptions.

Kent Graham

Graham was an eighth-round draft pick by the New York Giants in 1992. He finished his career with a 17-21 record, 39 touchdowns and 33 interceptions.

Tom Tupa

Tupa was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 1988 draft.

He was 4-9 as a starter, with 3,430 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.

Tupa was primarily used as a punter in the NFL.

Dwayne Haskins

Haskins was drafted in the first round in 2019 by the Washington Football Team. He has 2,804 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Bobby Hoying

Hoying was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round in 1996

He had a 3-9 record as a starter and threw for 2,544 yards, 11 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

Terrelle Pryor

Pryor was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the third round in 2011. He has a 3-7 record as a starter, with 1,994 passing yards, nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Troy Smith

Smith was a fifth-round pick in 2007 by the Baltimore Ravens.

He finished his career with 1,734 passing yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions, and a 4-4 record as a starter.

Art Schlichter

Schlichter was a first-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 1982.

He lost all six of his NFL starts, throwing for 1,006 yards, three touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Schlichter's career was derailed by legal issues which led to a run of prison sentences that spanned two decades -- brought on by a gambling addiction that led to financial fraud, theft

Krenzel was drafted by the Bears in the fifth round in 2004

He had a 3-2 record as a starter with 718 passing yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions.

Joe Germaine

Joe Germaine was a fourth-round pick by the St. Louis Rams in 1999.

He threw for 136 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Jones was drafted in the fourth round in the 2016 draft by the Buffalo Bills and completed 6 of 11 passes for 96 yards and one interception.
