John Travolta Reveals How His Son’s Dog Peanut Wakes Him Up in Adorable New Video
The pup gives some love to the 'Grease' actor.
John Travolta has quite an interesting wake-up call.
In a new video, the Grease actor shared how his son's dog, Peanut, wakes him up in the morning.
The video was shared on Oct. 1 via Instagram and showed Travolta lying down in bed as a tiny puppy curled up on his chest.
But once Travolta made a slight noise, Peanut started intensely licking his face.
Travolta didn't seem to mind, as he started speaking in a bit of a baby voice to the puppy, saying "I love you" a few times.
"This is how Ben’s dog Peanut wakes me up," the 68-year-old wrote in the video's caption, referring to his 11-year-old son Ben.
Many fans and friends of Travolta loved the cuteness of the video, liking and posting on his Instagram update, like Michelle Pfeiffer wrote, Aww…❤️."
Travolta's daughter Ella also commented, "🐶❤️😆."
The pup is a bit of a celebrity in its own right.
Peanut, previously known as "Mac N Cheese," appeared on stage earlier this year at the Oscars as part of a segment to honor Betty White and highlight her work for animal welfare.
Jamie Lee Curtis brought the dog on stage and spoke about the rescue organization Paw Works, where Peanut came from.
According to Chad Atkins, the co-founder and executive director of Paw Works, via PEOPLE, they were initially going to use a trained dog for the Oscars segment, but "It was actually Jamie Lee Curtis who said, 'No, no, no, we can't do that. Betty White is known for her compassion for four-legged friends, and she was always a huge advocate of animal rescue. It has to be a rescue animal.'"
After the segment, Atkins held Peanut for the rest of the awards ceremony, and many celebrities met and gave affection to the dog.
But for Travolta, it was love at first sight.
Atkins told PEOPLE that Travolta held Peanut for 30 minutes and expressed great interest in adopting her, and soon enough, the dog was delivered to her new family.
Travolta even posted a photo on Instagram of himself, Ben, and the puppy to celebrate the new addition to the family, which you can see below:
