Jakob Hall hurls ORU past South Dakota in Summit League tourney
Bartlesville High graduate Jakob Hall snapped out another mound gem for Oral Roberts University’s baseball team — next up, the Golden Eagles (45-11) play for the Summit League tourney championship.
During Thursday’s conference tourney game against South Dakota State, Hall (8-3) hurled five shutout innings during the 15-2 victory.
He scattered three hits, gave up three walks, struck out five and reinforced his status as a right-handed ace for ORU.
Hall, a sophomore, recently earned a spot on the Summit League All-League team. During the regular season, he recorded a 4-0 record in league play, with 42 strikeouts in 45 innings and only six walks allowed. Nineteen of his K’s were on non-swinging strike threes. He also notched a 3.68 earned run average.
ORU is on a 17-game winning streak. Next up, the Golden Eagles play at 1 p.m. Saturday in Fargo, N.D., the finals’ site for the conference tourney.
