Iowa State women's basketball team's non-conference schedule announced
The Iowa State women’s basketball team’s young and revamped roster will be put to the test right away this upcoming season.
Iowa State’s non-conference schedule, which was released Friday, includes showdowns with three in-state rivals and a trip to the South Point Shootout.
The Cyclones underwent a massive roster makeover in the offseason with graduations and transfers taking away a significant portion of their experience.
They’ll now rely on transfers and freshmen to help fill the gap from last season’s team that won the Big 12 Conference Tournament title.
One of those newcomers, Hannah Belanger, will face her old team when Iowa State opens the season with an exhibition against Truman State on Nov. 1 at Hilton Coliseum.
The Cyclones officially kick off the season on Nov. 6 against Butler. Iowa State will take on in-state foes Drake in Des Moines on Nov. 12, Iowa on Dec. 6 in Ames, and Northern Iowa at Hilton Coliseum on Dec. 20.
The team’s schedule also includes showdowns with Vanderbilt and Syracuse at the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas on Nov. 24-25.
