Iowa State football adds commitment from safety Quentin Taylor to 2024 recruiting class

Iowa State football added a commitment from 3-star safety Quentin Taylor on Sunday.

The 6-foot, 180-pound safety out of Lake Minneola, Florida, is the No. 128 player in Florida and No. 93 safety in the country, according to 247Sports. He does not have a 247Sports Composite ranking.

Taylor held additional offers from Akron, Bethune-Cookman, Columbia, Dartmouth, Duke, Eastern Kentucky, Liberty, Mercer, Navy, Pennsylvania, Princeton, Temple, Tennessee Tech, Tulane, USF, Virginia, Washington State and Western Michigan.

The Cyclones were the first Division I program to offer Taylor, in December 2022. He planned to take an official visit to Iowa State in June.

He helped his Lake Minneola team to a 10-2 record and the regional finals in his junior season. Taylor had 31 tackles, three pass breakups and an interception through the first 10 games.

Taylor is the seventh commit in Matt Campbell’s 2024 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 34 in the nation.
