Iowa high school football's state semifinal round continued on Saturday in Cedar Falls with Class 2A. Both Williamsburg and Central Lyon kept their undefeated seasons intact and will play each other next week in the state title game.

Williamsburg opened the weekend action with a dominant 31-7 win over Dubuque Wahlert. Central Lyon followed by soundly beating OABCIG 37-8. Wahlert ends the year with a 9-3 record while OABCIG bows out at 10-2.

Both the Raiders and the Lions improve to 12-0 on the season — and reached next week's state finals thanks largely to their star players.

Derek Weisskopf scores twice for Williamsburg

Williamsburg recorded 412 total yards of offense against Wahlert. It was a balanced attack, with 192 yards rushing and 220 passing.

Much of the passing success came through Derek Weisskopf. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Iowa Hawkeye commit hauled in eight receptions for 164 yards and two touchdowns — a 16-yarder in the first quarter to put the Raiders up 10-0, then a 30-yarder in the fourth to extend the lead to 31-0.

Williamsburg quarterback Carson Huedepohl went 10-for-13 passing for 207 yards and the two scores, but Weisskopf was far and away his favorite target. Wahlert had outscored its first three playoff opponents 124-20, but had no answer for Weisskopf and struggled offensively, putting up just 229 yards.

Zach Lutmer rushes for 269 yards in Central Lyon's win

It was the Zach Lutmer Show again for Central Lyon, who used its mean rushing attack to race past the pass-happy Falcons.

Lutmer, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior, rushed for 269 yards and scored three touchdowns to push Central Lyon back into the state championship game. Behind Lutmer, who also went 6-for-13 passing for 98 yards and a touchdown, the Lions ultimately rushed for 374 yards on 65 carries. Graham Eben added 83 yards and a touchdown.

Central Lyon's defense kept OABCIG's offense in check. The Beckett DeJean-led Falcons mustered just 171 yards of offense and eight total first downs. DeJean, who threw for 2,104 yards in his first 11 games this season, was picked off twice and had another 10 passes broken up by Lion defenders.

Next week's Class 2A championship game is set for Friday at 10 a.m. at the UNI-Dome.
