'What an Indianapolis 500 should feel like': Indianapolis Motor Speedway inches closer to sellout
This will be one of the biggest crowds in Indianapolis 500 history, according to Indianapolis Motor Speedway's boss.
Doug Boles said Thursday that less than 5,000 seats remain available for Sunday's race, making this the biggest crowd – except for the 100th race in 2016 – in at least a quarter century.
About 230,000 seats have been sold, he said. And that's before infield seating and the Snake Pit.

“It will feel like what an Indianapolis 500 should feel like,” Boles said.
Boles didn't say that the strong ticket sales would have any effect on the local live television blackout.
